Singapore invites private sector to build, own, and operate two 600MW hydrogen-ready CCGT power plants by 2030.
Singapore invites private sector to build, own and operate two hydrogen-ready CCGT power plants by 2030, as part of efforts to meet growing electricity needs and ensure energy security. Each power plant will have a minimum capacity of 600MW and be ready by 2029 and 2030, according to the Energy Market Authority (EMA). The new plants can use hydrogen to reduce carbon emissions, as Singapore's power system peak demand is expected to increase by at least 3.7% over the next six years.
