A man in his 40s has been arrested for alleged arson on a vacant property in Leixlip, Co Kildare, falsely rumored to house asylum seekers. The house was burned down in February after a previous incident in late January. The Department of Integration confirmed the rumors were false, and the property was privately-owned and sold in May 2022. Gardaí are investigating and asking witnesses to come forward.
