Nigeria Police Inspector-General, Olukayode Egbetokun, commits to respecting the federal government's decision on state police and advises officers on their duties, discipline, human rights, and firearm usage.

The Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, stated that the Nigeria Police force will respect the Federal Government's decision on the creation of state police. Speaking during a working visit to Lagos, Egbetokun advised officers to continue performing their duties as outlined by the Nigerian constitution, maintain discipline, respect human rights, and execute their roles professionally. He also cautioned against misuse of firearms, stressing they should be used responsibly and in accordance with the law.
