Missouri State Auditor to audit Missouri Department of Conservation following court ruling and funding concerns.
Missouri State Auditor, Scott Fitzpatrick, plans to audit the Missouri Department of Conservation following the Missouri Supreme Court's ruling that the legislature cannot restrict its funding uses. The department, funded by a 0.125% sales tax, will undergo an audit to improve internal processes, including comp time policies. The last audit in 2018 resulted in a "fair" rating and policy revisions.
