A mining site collapsed in Nigeria's Niger state, trapping more than 30 people in Galkogo village of Shiroro Local Government Area. The state Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) confirmed that one person had been confirmed dead, six people were rescued with severe injuries, while over 30 people, including the site manager, were still trapped. The cause was attributed to heavy rainfall impacts on the soil.
