Maersk's ammonia-fueled 3,500 TEU container vessel design has received Approval in Principle (AiP) from classification societies Lloyd's Register and American Bureau of Shipping. The project led by Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping included MAN Energy Solutions, Deltamarin, and Eltronic FuelTech. The AiP demonstrates intent across sectors to ensure ammonia adoption as a marine fuel, with safety as a critical aspect.
