Louisiana lawmakers have approved a bill that will allow judges to order surgical castration for those found guilty of sex crimes against children. The bill, which received overwhelming approval in both Republican-dominated chambers, also states that if an offender "fails to appear or refuses to undergo" the procedure, they could face an additional three to five years in prison.
