Irish government plans to increase fines for airlines allowing passengers without valid travel documents to €5,000.
The Irish government plans to increase fines for airlines that allow passengers without valid travel documents to board flights, from €3,000 to €5,000. The proposal, set to be presented by Minister for Justice Helen McEntee, follows over 2,000 passport checks and 100 prosecutions this year. The new guidelines would support airlines in conducting checks, with stronger penalties for non-compliance.
