Former FBI employee Marcus Allen, who accused the bureau of politicizing its work, has had his security clearance restored after it was initially revoked due to concerns about his views on the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack. Allen reached a settlement with the FBI, restoring his back pay and benefits from the 27-month suspension, and filed a whistleblower complaint with the Justice Department's Inspector General. The FBI and Allen agreed to resolve the matter without either party admitting wrongdoing.
