49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey has signed a two-year, $38 million extension, making him the highest-paid player at his position and extending his contract through the 2027 NFL season. McCaffrey, who led the league with 1,459 rushing yards in 2023, will now earn an average of $19 million per season. The extension includes $24 million in guarantees.
