Energy firm SSE plans to submit a €2bn+ offshore wind farm proposal to An Bord Pleanála for the coasts of Wicklow and Wexford in Ireland. If approved, the Arklow Bank 2 wind farm could generate up to 800MW of power, supplying electricity to 850,000 homes and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by over 800,000 metric tonnes annually. Construction may commence in 2029, pending planning consent and investment decision.
