China has achieved significant progress in ecological conservation and restoration, contributing to global efforts for an ecological civilization. Over 100 million mu (6.7 million hectares) of ecosystems, including mountains, rivers, forests, farmlands, lakes, grasslands, and deserts, have been restored since 2016. China has also restored 300,000 hectares of abandoned mine sites and nearly 1,680 kilometers of coastline during this period. The country has expanded its mangrove forest by 12 percent, placing it among nations with net growth in mangrove-covered areas. China is highly praised by the international community for its largest ecological restoration project and hopes to share its experiences with the world.
