Australian government eases biosecurity measures for Indonesian travellers due to stabilized foot-and-mouth disease cases.

The Australian government has eased strict biosecurity measures for Indonesian travellers, as reported cases of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in Indonesia have "stabilized." The number of daily infections in Indonesia has fallen from 12,000 at the height of the outbreak to around 25 per day. The scaling down of strict biosecurity measures from June 4 will bring Indonesian travellers in line with those from the 70 other countries where FMD is present.
