Two NYPD officers were shot and wounded during a foot pursuit of a 19-year-old suspect in Queens, New York City. The suspect, driving a motorized scooter the wrong way on a street, was pursued by the officers after he failed to stop when they tried to pull him over. The suspect fired multiple rounds, and the officers returned fire. Both officers were saved by their bullet-resistant vests. The suspect was shot in the ankle and is pending charges. Both officers were treated at a hospital and released.
