100-year-old historic Orange tree being cut down at 5 Borrodell Drive; investigation concluding findings withheld.

100-year-old historic Orange tree, which mysteriously fell ill, is being cut down at 5 Borrodell Drive. Contractors began removing branches on June 3, with two similar oaks planned for planting nearby. The tree's owner is property developer Gavin Gleeson, son of former councillor Martin Gleeson. An independent investigation into the tree's death was launched by Orange City Council in 2023, but findings have been withheld. Ratepayers have been billed at least $12,603.51 plus staff costs for the investigation.
