70-year-old Ed Mann, longtime percussionist for Frank Zappa, has passed away. Mann, who was with Zappa for 11 years, was a masterful and brilliant percussionist, according to fellow musician and Zappa collaborator Chad Wackerman. Mann began his love of music at the age of 11, performing with local bands, and later studied at the Hartt College of Music in Connecticut before enrolling at the California Institute of the Arts.
