Thousands of people participated in Sao Paulo's annual LGBTQ+ pride parade, one of the world's largest, wearing Brazil's national colors, yellow and green, to reclaim these symbols from far-right followers of former President Jair Bolsonaro. The event aims to show that Brazil will be better, inclusive, and diverse, despite being the country with the highest number of trans and queer people murdered globally, with 31% of the 321 reported murders in 2023.
