2023 saw CEO compensation packages in the S&P 500 increase by nearly 13%, surpassing worker gains amid inflation pressures. Median CEO pay reached $16.3M, a 12.6% rise, while private-sector worker wages and benefits rose 4.1%. In half the companies surveyed, the worker at the middle of the company's pay scale would need almost 200 years to earn what their CEO made.
