Southend RNLI rescued two girls clinging to a groyne marker in the Thames Estuary while swimming.

Southend RNLI saved two girls who were clinging to a groyne marker in the sea after they got into difficulty while swimming. Lifeboat crews spotted the girls in the Thames Estuary and safely took them onboard, later leaving them in the care of the coastguard. A separate incident involving a kayaker was also reported, but they were found to be safe and not in need of assistance.
