The Australian government signed the 8th Community Pharmacy Agreement (8CPA) with the Pharmacy Guild, providing $3bn in funding and cheaper medicines for patients. The agreement, set to commence on 1 July 2024, offers a better deal for pharmacies, cost-of-living relief through cheaper medicines, and a temporary freeze on indexation of Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) co-payments. The 8CPA also provides financial certainty for community pharmacies and supports a sustainable pharmacy network in Australia.
