Landslide closes US 101 at milepost 41, ODOT estimates several hours for clearance; alternate routes suggested.
A landslide closed U.S. 101 at milepost 41, about two miles north of Manzanita, at the south end of Oswald West State Park. The Oregon Department of Transportation reported that the closure could last several hours, and there is no local detour. Crews are working to open at least one lane for traffic. Passenger vehicles can use U.S. 26 and OR 35 as an alternative, but commercial trucks should not use OR 53.
