India set to add 45mn sq ft of retail space by 2028, outpacing past decade's growth, according to JLL. The top seven cities (Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, and Chennai) will see around 450 lakh sq ft space through 88 new retail developments, surpassing the supply of 2014-2023 (380 lakh sq ft). New retail developments will focus on larger and more experiential centers catering to modern shoppers' preferences for unique experiences.
