FIFA disqualified Equatorial Guinea's World Cup 2026 qualification wins due to ineligible player Emilio Nsue.

FIFA has ruled that Emilio Nsue, Equatorial Guinea's top scorer at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), was never eligible to represent the country throughout his 11-year international career. FIFA stripped Equatorial Guinea of their World Cup 2026 qualification victories against Namibia and Liberia, which they won 1-0 due to Nsue's goals. The former Spain under-21 and youth international is now banned from playing for the national team for six months, and Equatorial Guinea's two wins in the qualifying games for the 2026 World Cup have been cancelled.
