Bote returns to the major league roster after being outrighted off the Cubs in 2022, while Madrigal struggles with a .221/.280/.256 record. To accommodate this move on the 40-man roster, Adbert Alzolay was moved to the 60-day Injured List. Bote is expected to play a depth/bench/power-off-the-bench role.
