Canadian cities and towns facing climate change challenges will receive $530M from a new federal adaptation fund. The Local Leadership for Climate Adaptation initiative offers up to $1M for local projects to upgrade infrastructure and natural environments against floods, fires, and storms. Additional funding streams include $70K for impact assessments and aid for local governments to train staff on climate change's effects on operations and services.
