Study at Endocrine Society annual meeting finds women in their 60s with low bone density face a higher risk of first hip fracture compared to older ages. Despite increased osteoporosis rates, no significant increase in fragility hip fractures was observed. Researchers call for earlier bone health awareness, promoting nutrition, exercise, fall prevention, and screening/treatment to improve outcomes.
