73-year-old Stephen Sykes from Littleton, NC drowned at Smith Mountain Lake's Magnum Point Marina after falling into the water and not resurfacing. Authorities received a 911 call at 7:40 pm and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office conducted a search, recovering his body. The drowning is suspected to be accidental, but the investigation remains ongoing.
