Western Australia plans to strip people accused of family violence of their firearms, following the deaths of Jennifer and Gretl Petelczyc. Premier Roger Cook announced the proposed legal changes, which are part of a wider plan to strengthen the state's firearm laws. The update will require police to mandatorily seize guns from individuals subject to a formal complaint in relation to domestic violence.
