Saudi Arabia begins enforcing penalties for Hajj violators without permits. Penalties include a fine of 10,000 Saudi Riyals ($2,666) for violators, deportation and a ban on re-entering the Kingdom for residents, and imprisonment and a fine of up to 50,000 Saudi Riyals ($13,333) for those transporting Hajj violators without a permit. The measures will be in place from June 2 to June 20, 2024, across Makkah, holy sites, Haramain train station, security checkpoints, screening centers, and temporary security checkpoints.
