30 years after the RAF Chinook helicopter crash on Mull of Kintyre peninsula in Scotland, a service was held at Southend Parish Church to remember the 29 victims. The helicopter, carrying leading security personnel, crashed into a hillside during thick fog on June 2, 1994. The incident remains the worst RAF peacetime disaster, and the reasons for the crash are still unclear. A special act of remembrance was held at a memorial cairn at the crash site.
