Manhattan Beach pier was temporarily closed on Saturday after a swarm of bees was reported to the police. The bees were discovered just before 4 pm, and police blocked off the pier to allow the bees to leave on their own. The swarm was a result of a new queen being made in a colony, and her mother leaving with a group of worker bees to find a new hive. No injuries were reported, and it remains unclear how long the pier will be closed.
