Labour pledges to reform the apprenticeship levy, allowing businesses more flexibility to invest in training courses. The party's new growth and skills levy would enable firms to use up to 50% of government funds for apprenticeships or training existing staff in high-level technical skills. Current apprenticeship funding includes money raised through taxes and an apprenticeship levy paid by businesses with an annual wage bill of more than £3m.
