GICN sues Nigeria's IGP for withholding NNPCL murder investigation report under FOI Act.
The Global Integrity Crusade Network (GICN) has filed a lawsuit against Nigeria's Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, in the Federal High Court of Abuja, demanding the release of an investigation report on the alleged murder by Asabe Waziri, a Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) staff. GICN claims that the IGP's refusal to provide the requested information and documents violates Nigeria's Freedom of Information Act, 2011. The case is pending, with no date set for a hearing.
