Dolph Ziggler (Nic Nemeth) revealed during a recent podcast that he had talks with AEW following his WWE release but opted to work the independent scene instead. Nemeth appreciated AEW's openness, saying Tony Khan told him, "Just so you know, you can do anything you want while you work here." Nemeth appreciated the freedom and chose to test himself on the independent circuit, appearing at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom and TNA Impact since his WWE exit.
