Chinese defense official accuses the US of seeking to establish an "Asia-Pacific version of NATO" through its Indo-Pacific strategy to maintain its hegemony in the region. Chinese Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission, Jing Jianfeng, made the accusation in response to the US' Indo-Pacific strategy, stating that it is outdated and serves only US geopolitical self-interest, destined to fail.
