Car crashes into historic West Country pub, Langport Arms Hotel, causing stone pillar to fall; driver not seriously injured.

A car crashed into a historic West Country pub, Langport Arms Hotel, in Langport near Taunton, causing a heavy stone pillar to fall onto the vehicle. The driver, who managed to get out of the car, received medical attention but is not seriously injured. Emergency services closed the Bow Street road and firefighters used steel props to support the porch roof. The building was made safe by 10.16pm.
