Assam approved to establish a new IIM near Guwahati, mentored by IIM Ahmedabad.

Assam has received approval from the Centre to set up a new Indian Institute of Management (IIM) near Guwahati, making it one of a few cities in India to house top educational institutions. The upcoming IIM in Assam will be mentored by the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad). Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the new institute is a "game changer" for higher education in the state.
