68-year-old former Montana lawmaker Denny Rehberg enters the race for an open House seat in a Republican-leaning, agricultural district after incumbent Matt Rosendale drops out.
Former six-term Montana lawmaker, Denny Rehberg (68), is pursuing a political comeback in a crowded field for an open House seat in a predominantly Republican and agricultural district. Rehberg, who has raised little money and skipped a recent debate, entered the race after incumbent U.S. Rep. Matt Rosendale dropped out. Rehberg cites his grandchildren and a desire to make a difference in their lives as his motivation for running. The district, created after the 2020 Census, spans over 100,000 square miles of primarily open space and is in one of America's largest and newest congressional districts.
