1st-seeded Tennessee Volunteers defeated Northern Kentucky Norse 9-3 in the NCAA tournament opener at the Knoxville Regional. Billy Amick hit a three-run home run, and Hunter Ensley and Dylan Dreiling also homered for Tennessee. AJ Causey pitched 6 2/3 innings for the win, allowing two runs and striking out nine. Northern Kentucky's ace pitcher Tanner Gillis was chased in the fourth inning.
