Red Bull skydivers have defended their first-ever wingsuit flight between Dublin's Poolbeg chimneys after facing criticism from the ESB, who described the jump as a "serious safety incident". The ESB stated that permission was not sought from them to fly between the chimneys. In a stunt sponsored by Red Bull, the skydivers jumped from a helicopter at 1,280 metres, reached a top speed of 253kph, and landed on Shelly Banks Beach.
