Myanmar's Sitagu Sayadaw Dr Ashin Nyanissara received the International Award for Promotion of Buddhism from India's Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). The award, which includes a citation, medallion, and $20,000 cash prize, recognizes Dr. Nyanissara's contributions to the Buddhist community in Myanmar. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, friends from across Myanmar, and members of the Indian community.
