31 May, a tractor-trailer crash on I-485 Inner at I-77 in north Charlotte led to closure and heavy traffic. One person was seriously injured and another had to be extricated. The incident occurred at 3:45 pm and all lanes were reopened after 5:30 pm. Cause of the crash remains unknown, and first responders from Huntersville Fire, Long Creek Fire, and Charlotte Fire were involved.
