Colorado Springs police arrested murder suspect Branden Lee Bishop on May 30, 2024, in connection with the fatal stabbing of 56-year-old Lawny Norvell in February. Initially charged with first-degree assault, Bishop's charges were upgraded to first-degree murder following Norvell's death. Bishop was eventually found in Old Colorado City and taken into custody without incident.
