Kerala's Milma (Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation) is implementing a multi-faceted strategy to strengthen the cooperative dairy sector, focusing on enhancing productivity and supporting farmers facing rising input costs. Milma procured 11.96 lakh litres of milk a day in May 2024 and aims for self-sufficiency. In the 2023-24 fiscal year, Milma's milk cooperative recorded a higher turnover of ₹4,311 crore. Milma has over 10 lakh dairy farmers in its network.
