A policeman in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar, identified as head constable Bashir Ahmad, died after his service weapon accidentally discharged while he was cleaning it. The incident occurred in Zewan, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ahmad was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
