Geelong broke their worst losing streak in 18 years with a 30-point win against Richmond, overcoming a 29-point deficit in the second quarter. The Cats, initially $1.05 favourites, eventually led by three points at the final change before steamrolling the Tigers, scoring 14.6 in the second half. The win ended a four-game losing run under Chris Scott and avoided losing three straight at Kardinia Park.
