7 people, including 5 children, drowned in Madhya Pradesh's Sheopur district after a boat carrying 11 passengers capsized in the Seep river. The incident occurred at 4:30 pm near Manpur, 40 km from the district headquarters. Local residents suspect a storm or whirlpool caused the boat to capsize; 4 others were rescued. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has directed search and rescue operations.
