Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili handed over PBS presidency to deputy Joachim Gunsalam on June 1.
Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili officially handed over the presidency duties of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) to his deputy, Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam, on June 1. Ongkili, who led PBS for six years, made Gunsalam the acting president with immediate effect. The transfer was described as a necessary change for the party's good, following the provisions in Article 15(iii)(a) of the PBS Constitution.
