A Colombian man, Jeffersson Arango Castellanos, was sentenced to 48 years and 9 months in prison for drugging, kidnapping, and assaulting two US soldiers in Bogota in 2020. Arango and co-conspirators targeted the soldiers, incapacitating and kidnapping them to rob them of their valuables. The sentence was handed down by a federal court in Florida after Arango pleaded guilty to a six-count indictment.
