China will begin constructing its first national marine archaeology museum this year in Qingdao, Shandong Province. The 29,333 sq. m planned museum, located in Qingdao Oceantec Valley, will display China's marine archaeological history, achievements and ancient marine civilization, and serve as a platform for public education and scientific research on marine archaeology.
